This review is on behalf of my best friend Andy Painting.
There is not 1 day, NO ONE DAY he doesn't mention The Monument in The Swan Inkpen.
He says it's the friendliest and the best pub in England. -

Considered a fairly local pub, a place to find a few interesting characters and a few local hand-pulled ales. The Tap puts on regular entertainment evenings, notably live music, mainly metal/rock from memory.
It's also worth remarking about the rotating, circular pool table, which given the size of the establishment works fairly well. Plus The Tap is home to Newbury's only pinball machine. Serves standard pub grub, a selection of sandwiches at lunchtime. -

I enjoy this pub a lot, good character and characters, good local ales and if you like rock music a great jukebox and live music. really worth a trip to,I love it and are a frequent visitor here!
